Each year the Dartmouth Handcrafters Guild donates a portion of the net proceeds from our annual craft show to local charities. This tradition forms part of the reason for the Guild’s initial creation: To support our handcrafters and give back to the community through charitable giving. Since 1994 the Guild has donated over $235,000 to charities in Nova Scotia.
December 2019 saw significant changes for the Dartmouth Handcrafters Guild. The serving Board at that time felt it was time to step down and a new Board took over to begin a new chapter in the long history of the Guild. However, the goal of the Guild remains the same: to produce an annual craft show to support and promote our handcrafters, and to give back to the community through charitable giving.
The current Board of Directors wishes to invite the public to nominate Nova Scotia charities for consideration as a recipient of a donation from the proceeds of a future craft show.
If a charity is close to your heart, has helped you in some way, or you have observed the good work that they do for others, we would love to learn about that organization.
Anyone may submit a nomination. However, to ensure this is a fair system, nominations will not be accepted anonymously. In order for your nomination to be accepted, you must provide your name, email address, and phone number to verify your nomination is legitimate. This information will not be used for other purposes.
